Winny’s latest album Commercial Break hit me like a breath of fresh air. It’s a seamless blend of rhythmic grooves and pop sensibilities, full of infectious melodies, intricate production, and compelling vocal performances. Across seven tracks, she creates a cohesive yet dynamic musical vision that feels more fresh than familiar. Picture Perfect immediately grabbed my attention with its cinematic grandeur, built on rich piano chords and expansive choir responses. Winny’s vocal delivery reminded me of early Rihanna — bold, soulful, and impossible to ignore.

Then came All Night, shifting the mood with glitchy, pulsating drums and minimal synth layers that create an irresistible bounce. Winny’s melodies glide effortlessly over the production, blending retro synth textures with hooks that stayed with me long after the song ended. Suh Good felt like the anthem I didn’t know I needed. Its delicate guitar chords and atmospheric string pads create a serene backdrop, while Projexx’s feature adds smooth melodic runs that perfectly complement Winny’s captivating performance. The laid-back vibe continued with 9-5, where minimal piano-driven production pairs effortlessly with chilled beats. The vocal melodies caught me off guard in the best way — unexpected but addictive, making me want to hit replay. When Lego came on, its playful pop twist and underwater synth textures hooked me. The house-inspired piano stabs and sporadic guitar riffs added even more layers, while Winny’s catchy vocal lines showed just how good she is at crafting memorable tunes.

Take Me offered a reflective moment, slowing things down with dreamy, warbly guitar chords and laid-back rhythms. Thutmose’s feature provided a melodic counterpoint, enhancing the track’s layered sound and entrancing vibe. As the album neared its close, You pulled me back in with its EPiano chords and gritty, emotionally charged vocals. The layered guitars in the hook and synthetic rhythmic textures built an evolving soundscape that kept me hooked. The final track, Utility Player, left me wanting more. Its soulful guitar progression and deeply groovy drums created the perfect backdrop for Winny’s gritty, Tash Sultana-esque vocals. Her ear-candy vocal riffs in the hook wrapped up the album on a high note. Commercial Break solidifies Winny’s place as a rising star with a unique voice in the pop music landscape. Her ability to merge genres with such finesse makes this album a must-listen, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
